Actress Anna Kendrick, who starred in the “Bachelor” television series, says she is the victim of a rape.
The actress told ABC News’ “Nightline” that her former co-star and co-writer, John Stamos, sexually assaulted her in the hotel room of their New York apartment in January.
The allegations are “outrageous,” Kendrick said.
“It’s like, ‘We are all victims of sexual assault,'” she added.
“So it’s like the worst thing that can happen to you, to have someone else in your life say something like that.
I am so heartbroken.
I can’t imagine the trauma.”
According to an ABC News report, the actress said that Stamos grabbed her and put his hands around her neck.
“The second I said ‘No’ I was pinned down, his hand was around my neck, and he just started fucking me,” Kendrick told “Nightly News.”
“I couldn’t even move.
He was like, `I want you to stop talking to me.
I don’t want you anymore.'”
Kendrick said she was able to push his hands away and scream for help.
When she said she had to leave the room, “he grabbed my legs, and pulled me out the door,” she said.
The New York Police Department said that they are investigating the allegation.
Stamos denied the accusations.
“Anna Kendrick has been an integral part of the ‘Bachelorette’ cast for more than eight seasons,” he said in a statement.
I take full responsibility for this and am deeply sorry for what happened.” “
I am shocked and disappointed to learn that Ms. Kendrick made these allegations, and I know that they will not be true.
I take full responsibility for this and am deeply sorry for what happened.”
Kendrick, 23, has not yet responded to The Hollywood Reporter’s request for comment.
She has appeared on the reality show in recent years, where she plays a young woman on the hunt for her future husband.
Kendrick is the first woman to star in an “Bachelorettes” reality show, and the first to co-host a season of the series.
The series’ second season will air on ABC in 2019.
The network announced a “Basketball Wives” reunion tour this month in Los Angeles.
